Final Results

Here are my final results for the watch and bracelet I made.
I'm hoping the will just be a class about 3d printing because I really enjoyed this project.
It took some work, but glad I finally got it.

WATCH this...part 4

So this post was meant to be up sooner, but I couldn't get the pics to upload. Finally I figured it out and here we are. I got a couple test models of my watch. One was unintentionally thin and clean because the printer was clogged (which also messed up another test model that wasn't used at all) and the other came out perfect.
We got a heater, something to form the watch around, and got to work. It took some time and cleaver thinking, but we managed to get an idea of how this watch should be in the end. I will make the band and watch face holder into two separated pieces, then just welded them together. Why??? Well, the band won't form around nicely because of how the watch face holder is sized and shaped to the band.
We a few adjustments, I think the next one will be better. In the meantime I plan on making some bracelets as well.

Pics are coming...

WATCH This...Part 3

So I printed the outline of the watches, cut one out, and wrapped around my arm. My measurements were closely true to size, just the ends of the band slightly overlapped. I had to make the shapes (heart, circle, diamond) bigger to hold the watch face and from the look on my wrist, it is not too big. I like the size. I can really see this turning out pretty cool.
I think some small adjustments need to be made and I will be ready for the first 3d print of it.

WATCH this...part 2

Here's what I came up with as an idea for my watch. I love the idea of circle links. The middle piece is where a watch face can be place (I didn't that spot on the heart yet).
Then it was suggest that the linked band piece could be heated and formed to clutch around the wrist, which would be cool.

Still, going to work on a couple more sample and get some measurements down.

to be continued...

Keychain

So I thought I posted these already, but...guess not.

We were required to make a key chain samples for class. I love wolves, so I though I would try to find something I would like carrying around as a key chain. I found this image
and made an outline of it in Illustrator. After a little help I placed the file into Tinkercad, scaled it to the right size, and added a hold for the key ring to go through. This was my final result:

I  think it turned out well. Would be great to see it printed and then I could carry it around.  :)

WATCH this...

I think I want to try to make a watch band for this next project. It will be one where I can snap any watch face in it. I tried to do some sketches, but not how I want it to be exactly, so here are some images of concept or ideas I like until I get my sketches down.

Maybe I will try to make a watch that can slide on to any kind of strap.

I'll keep looking for more idea: http://www.thingiverse.com/search/page:1?q=watch&sa=

Folded Paper Design

The way my paper folds I didn't know at first what I was going to put on it as far as design or text. Eventually I just came up with something simple and sweet.

Final Result

Alright, I think I got it!  After some trial and error, some tweaking, I now have my folded piece done.
Once I got re-focused I was able to get it done. Next we're suppose to take it into InDesign and put color/pattern/text on it. I'm not sure what I want on it, but I'm sure it will come to me. I wrote a couple words on it, but that might not be on the final product.

Progress so far...

Got off track a bit, but making the effort to get things in order and catch up. Right now, I just printed my template for my folded material and will see if it turn out accurately. I'm starting to get it, so I looking forward to seeing how it turns out!

Let's Fold

Cut, fold, tape, score...trying to make these paper objects for class. At first it was like I forgot how to do it, but eventually I just keep trying different things. I want to try to come up with my own shapes and figures, but I did look up some origami patterns. Below is what I have so far. I'm going to keep going and see what else I can make.
